A Vintage Passenger Car Wedding on California Zephyr Railcar Charters in Los Angeles, California

This nontraditional passenger car wedding allowed guests to tour the Southern California coastline without having to take a single step. Theresa Hockenberry (33 and a sales planner) and Adam Aceto (35 and a music director) were first married at the elegant Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles, California. After the ceremony, the couple and their guests boarded the California Zephyr Railcar Charters train at the L.A. station for the reception. During the ride to San Diego, California, champagne service and a full bar was provided for the couple and their 60 guests onboard for the cocktail hour. The interior of the train matched the wedding day's color palette, which was a combination of reds and purples, all captured by Becca Liz Photography. Flowers by Leah created vibrant arrangements of calla lilies, roses and chrysanthemums mixed with eucalyptus and leaves that added pops of color to the simple white tables. After the train arrived in San Diego and guests were able to explore the area, they boarded yet again for the remainder of the reception as the train made its way back to Los Angeles. A three-course reception dinner was prepared by the onboard chef, who ended the meal with his infamous toffee-crunch cake for dessert. “The train reception reflected us perfectly, and it was a great way to keep the guest list small and intimate,” the couple says. “It was a fun experience, as some guests had never even been on a train, and touring the SoCal coastline was amazing, too."
