A Vintage Garden Barn Wedding at Brightfield Farms in Hopkinsville, Kentucky
Channeling the rustic elegance of the South, the wedding of Kelly Myers (26 and a teacher) and Will Myers (34 and a teacher) beautifully blended a vintage garden tea party and a casual barnyard atmosphere to create a celebration true to their styles. “I am a shabby-chic person who adores teacups and lace. Will is a Southern man who likes his music and bourbon. [Our wedding] meshed our personalities together,” Kelly says. When searching for their venue, the couple wanted a barn venue in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, with a garden and a Southern feel. “I remember as we drove up the long dirt driveway, I squealed to Will I had a good feeling that Brightfield Farms may be the one, and it was.” At the garden cocktail hour, Kelly brought out her expansive vintage teacup collection for beverages, while guests mingled and enjoyed an ice cream bar. (Who says you can’t have dessert before dinner?) The couple also displayed an old teacher globe, which they used as their guest book. “It fit us perfectly for both being teachers and meeting at the high school where we teach,” Kelly says. At the reception, beverages were served in mason jars, hand-decorated with vintage and antique buttons and lace, pearls, twine and fabric hearts, which Kelly’s students helped make. One standout detail was the couple’s wedding-cake topper, which held sentimental significance to the bride. “It was my late grandmother’s small china teacup and saucer. She started my love for tea and my teacup collection,” Kelly says. See the details from Visions by Debra Harris captured by Swanky Fine Art Weddings, below.
