A Southern Shabby-Chic Wedding at Mathews Manor in Springville, Alabama

Refined rustic details filled Sarah Brown (22 and a calligrapher) and Andrew Brown’s (23 and works in financial planning) wedding. The day started outside in Micah's Meadow under a giant tree and oversize chandelier before turning into a dance party inside Grace Hall at Mathews Manor in Springville, Alabama. The couple love that their venue did it all—ceremony and reception, dinner and dessert, flowers and decor—making the planning process easier. We love the stunning white floral arrangements, including classics like peonies and dahlias that were paired with more rustic choices like baby’s breath, which followed the shabby-chic theme. Knowing they wanted to splurge on a couple of aspects, the couple decided a phenomenal reception band was the most important to have. “It was completely worth it,” Sarah says. “Act of Congress brought down the house. Our biggest desire for our reception was for everyone to dance and have a good time. We wanted them to leave saying they wished it lasted longer. I think we definitely accomplished that. We danced and danced until they told us it was time to leave.” See all the details, beautifully captured by Bre Conley from SayBre Photography, below. A tip from Sarah: “As much time as you spend planning and preparing for the wedding day, spend that much time, if not more, preparing for your marriage. Don't get me wrong, I wanted a perfect wedding day as much as the next bride, but it made that whole season smoother when I had the perspective of planning for our marriage, which is going to last a lifetime.”
