A Simple, Romantic Wedding at Washington Park Arboretum in Seattle, Washington
Cheiu Van (37, a design project manager) and Brian Stabile (34, a film student) met online and had their first date at the farmer’s market where Brian sold bread. Not only did Cheiu keep Brian company, but stayed until closing and helped pack up the stall for the night. After closing up shop, the two of them decided to stop for coffee, which led to dinner and finished with a walk around the neighborhood. Both of them didn’t want the night to end! One year later, the couple rented a Vanagon and traveled all over Maui, Hawaii. They were 100 feet below water in a submarine when Brian felt it was the right moment to ask Cheiu for her hand in marriage. “The antique diamond and sapphire ring was a perfect fit, and I said yes under the blue glow of the water as the marine life swam past our porthole oblivious to the happy event,” says Cheiu. The wedding took place at Graham Visitor’s Center at Washington Park Arboretum in Seattle, Washington, with an outdoor stone patio for the ceremony and an indoor area for the reception. The couple wanted to celebrate the simplicity of nature at their wedding with a color palette of light green, pink and white. Cheiu wore an ivory dress accented with beading while holding a white and pink peony bouquet down the aisle. Inside the reception area, dining tables were decorated with burlap runners and light green napkins wrapped with natural twine. Potted succulents were given to guests as wedding favors, labeled with each guest name on wooden tags etched with a wood burner.
