A Simple, Elegant Waterfront Wedding at the Belle Haven Club in Greenwich, Connecticut

For their late-summer wedding, Jordan Licero (25 and a designer) and Christopher Bevan (26 and a lawyer) planned an elegant seaside affair at the Belle Haven Club in Greenwich, Connecticut. The venue’s breathtaking views, light ocean breezes, beautiful facilities and incredible staff instantly won the couple over. “The view of the water was absolutely spectacular,” Jordan says, “and we knew nothing could compete with it.” To avoid overpowering the natural setting, Jordan and Christopher let the venue dictate everything from the decor to the wedding-day fashions. They opted for a soft color palette of blush, peach, ivory and white, with subtle pops of muted green hues mixed in for a fresh, organic undertone. The day kicked off with a ceremony by the sea, the couple exchanging vows against the backdrop of the sparkling Atlantic Ocean. Cocktail hour was held out on Belle Haven’s perfectly manicured lawn, allowing guests to sip on champagne and the couple’s signature Southside cocktail while taking in the panoramic views, acoustic guitar playing softly in the background. Taking full advantage of the weather and the scenery, Jordan and Christopher hosted the reception outdoors as well, under the canopy of an open-air tent. Crisp white linens were dotted with lush arrangements of pastel-colored blooms like dahlias, roses and hydrangeas, interwoven with eucalyptus. After fueling up on delectable dishes like Maryland crab cakes with remoulade, bruschetta and risotto balls with tomato-saffron aioli, the newlyweds and their guests hit the dance floor, dancing the night away to the sounds of The A Band of New York. A tip from Jordan: “Enjoy every second of your wedding day, and don't let anything stress you out.”
