A Simple Blush Wedding at Windows On The River in Cleveland, Ohio
Marylou Bontempo (27, a senior financial analyst) and Steve Hegler (29, a creative services manager) met at a toga party while they were attending John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio. Marylou was charmed by his signature dance moves at the party (which she saw plenty of that night) and her big, blue eyes drew in Steve. Nine years after dating, the couple officially purchased their first home together. They went to the house to pick up the keys, and as they were walking around the empty living room, Steve got down on one knee and proposed with an engagement ring. The couple had their wedding ceremony right around the corner from their house at St. Christopher Parish in Rocky River, Ohio. Marylou had initial intentions of wearing a traditional dress, but ended up falling in love with a white lace corset by Carol Hannah and a blush tulle skirt by Watters. Steve picked a traditional black tuxedo designed by Vera Wang and purchased from Men’s Wearhouse. Their outdoor reception was held at Windows on the River in Cleveland, Ohio with panoramic views of downtown for guests to enjoy. The blush wedding dress was the inspiration for the day’s color palette, which was made up of blush, white and black accented with gold. Baby’s breath centerpieces decorated simple white covered reception tables surrounded by gold chiavari chairs. Cinnamon heart dough ornaments that Marylou made growing up were given out as wedding favors, with personalized tags attached thanking guests for attending.
