A Shabby Chic Wedding at Grove Park Inn Resort in Asheville, North Carolina

Neither Christa Snodgrass, 24, an optometrist, nor Ryan Morris, 27, a marketing manager, thought that attending a friend's wedding in Macon, Georgia would lead the two of them to walk down the aisle. "We knew there was something special about each other the moment we spoke. But, at the time we were both living in different states, which wasn't ideal for casual dating," says Christa. They decided to throw caution to the wind and a year and a half later in the month of December, Ryan showed up at Christa's door with a miniature Christmas, which she had been hinting at him to get for a few weeks. "As I was setting up the tree, I noticed he had also gotten one ornament. I opening the box and it was a ring!"The pair were married six months later in a romantic, shabby chic wedding at Grove Park Inn in Asheville. We were married at the Grove Park Inn, where Christa had spent Christmas one year with her family when they were young. "Ryan and I loved the venue because we felt it was not only sentimental but also matched the style of the wedding we wanted to have — rustic elegance with a breathtaking mountain backdrop," says Christa. Arrangements of pastel roses, peonies and ranunculuses and plenty of warm candlelight added a warm, romantic ambiance to the rustic mountain setting. Vintage accents, like milk glass vases and even Christa's Valentino lace gown introduced a touch of old world charm that worked seamlessly with the day's décor.
