A Rustic Vintage-Inspired Woodland Wedding at Bird Island Lake Ranch in Dade City, Florida
Autumn Kauffman (25 and an english teacher) and Jordan Kauffman (24 and a general manager of Booster Tampa) met in high school and reconnected about five years. Jordan popped the question in June while the couple was visiting Autumn’s newborn niece in Colorado. “Jordan asked me to dance while Sinatra's, "The Way You Look Tonight" played softly in the background. Soon after, he got down on one knee and made me the happiest girl in the world,” says Autumn. Over the next five months, the couple worked to plan a rustic wedding decorated in shades of gold, teal and coral. “I've always dreamed of getting married outdoors and dancing the night away under the stars,” says Autumn. They chose Bird Island Lake Ranch as their venue. A burlap runner lined with a white Song of Solomon quote lined the aisle as the couple entered their outdoor ceremony through a pair of grand stained barn doors. Vintage bird cages, lanterns and crates were placed behind rows of gold chiavari chairs. After the couple said “I do,” their 225 guests moved to another portion of the ranch for an outdoor cocktail hour and reception. White linen-covered round tables were accented with gold chargers, candles and floral centerpieces in glass bottles collected by Autumn’s in-laws. The couple treated their guests to their favorite wine and beer as well as a tiered white wedding cake baked by the sister of Autumn’s bridesmaid. Jordan’s cousin also contributed to the wedding with a football themed groom’s cake. Autumn, Jordan and their guests spent the night on the dancefloor before taking a sparkler exit.
