A Rustic-Chic Barn Wedding at Swans Trail Farms in Snohomish, Washington
Wooden details, white lace and pops of bright colors made this rustic-chic wedding come to life. Sarah Lee (31 and in customer service) and Alex Lee (30 and a financial controller) wanted their nuptials to take place inside a barn. Sarah grew up five minutes away from Swans Trail Farms in Snohomish, Washington, where the beautiful landscaped property—complete with a waterfall, pond and of course a renovated barn—fit Sarah and Alex's vision perfectly. The purple and pink palette was vibrant, embodied in many of the day's details—from the floor-length bridesmaid dresses in different hues of purple to the pink roses in the bridal bouquet. The ceremony took place on the green lawn at the venue, where Sarah and Alex stood at the pergola on top of a wooden platform. A tall wooden stake had picket-fence slabs guiding guests to different locations, including dinner inside and outside the renovated barn. Guests enjoyed eating their meal at white dining tables draped in burlap, which had pink chrysanthemum centerpieces arranged inside boxes wrapped with lace. Our favorite part of the wedding? Sarah's dress, which incorporated some lace into her look—an Etsy gown with a mermaid-style silhouette and lace-accented sleeves that flared out at the bottom in ruffles. She danced and twirled in that elegant dress, especially when it came to her choreographed first dance. "My favorite moment was when it was time for our first dance," Sarah says. "We started out slow, then transitioned into a choreographed dance that we had taken lessons for. We had kept the dance a secret from everyone, so it was fun to surprise guests with our dancing skills." See more details that contributed to this rustic-chic occasion, below.
