A Romantic Wedding at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort in Clearwater, Florida

A close friendship and love of science brought Shannon McQuaig (32 and a microbiology professor) and Robert Ulrich (37 and a CTO) together in 2006. The couple met in a biology lab one year earlier. Rather than being blinded by love, Robert blinded Shannon with science, she says. Over their 17 month long engagement, the couple planned a romantic wedding in Clearwater, Florida. Their first decision was the color palette: pewter and pink. Next, the couple decided on their ceremony venue, Andrews Memorial Chapel in Dunedin, Florida. Both enjoyed the "romantic feel" of the church last time they attended a wedding there and wanted the same for their special day. Shannon and Robert filled their wedding with signs of their love, including a slideshow at the cocktail hour, photo guestbook, monogrammed cake topper and beakers at the candy bar.
