A Romantic, Southern Wedding at Oaks Plantation in Pike Road, Alabama

Fittingly nestled between the trees at Oaks Plantation in Pike Road, Alabama, Lauren Taylor (25 and in hospitality and community outreach) and Alexander Fleming (28 and a project manager) celebrated their nuptials with with a romantic, Southern affair. Bunches of soft florals, monograms and refreshing sweets brought their day to new heights. Pink peonies, roses and delphiniums highlighted the length of their pew-lined ceremony space, including the cross backdrop. Each petal accented their natural setting with a soft hue. The bridesmaid bouquets brought out a similar arrangement inside a monogrammed ribbon wrap. This signature Southern detail later popped up during the reception. Lauren and Alex placed their initials on white cocktail napkins, koozies and the the rose-covered cake. On top of this five-tier strawberry confection, they offered guests a fresh take on Southern favorites, including tartlets, biscuits and jarred pies. The photos from Chanterelle Photography make them look almost too good to eat! “Our vision was to keep everything very classically Southern,” Lauren says.
