A Classic, Romantic Wedding at the Cherry Creek Golf Club in Shelby Township, Michigan
It took five years of dating long distance before Dorothy (24 and a teacher) and Josh (24 and a financial advisor) got engaged in the bride's home state of Michigan. "Josh proposed Christmas morning surrounded by my family," Dorothy says. "My dog came prancing down the stairs with a little gift bag tied around her neck and inside was the most beautiful ring." For their romantic June wedding, the couple looked to the Cherry Creek Golf Club for both the ceremony and reception space. "We chose the venue due to the beautiful views and greenery surrounding the club," Dorothy explains. We were determined to have an outdoor wedding, despite our Romanian Christian tradition of having a church ceremony. I mean, how could you not want to be outside during a Michigan summer?" Thanks to elegant elements of pink, gold and black, the couple pulled off a classic ceremony filled with the bride's favorite blooms. "We used tons of peonies and garden roses and the centerpieces were birdcages with flowers placed inside," the bride says. "I handmade all of the signs and we included a fun photo booth for guests, too. Ultimately, we were so blessed and thankful for all of our family and friends that were able to accompany us."
