A Classic Elegant Wedding at Cascade Hills Country Club in Grand Rapids, Michigan

When Katie Hasse (32 and a public relations and content marketing manager) and Andrew Pace (31 and a vice president of sales and trading) started making plans for their summer wedding, they knew that Katie’s hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan, would provide the perfect backdrop for the elegant, fun-filled affair. Working with Amy Young and Kristy Stites of Destination Consultants, the weekend went off without a hitch, from the extracurricular events, including a 5K race and luncheon, to the traditional ceremony at Central Reformed Church and the reception at Cascade Hills Country Club. Every design decision was centered on creating a day that exuded timelessness and sophistication, starting with a palette of champagne, gold, white and coral, which perfectly matched the warm colors and stately features of Cascade Hills’s light-filled ballroom. Shimmery gold table linens introduced a subtle glam note to the decor, while gilded candelabras, gold chiavari chairs and script table numbers had a classic, whimsical flair. Tracy Knoth of T Lynn Studios took things to the next level with opulent arrangements of garden roses, hydrangeas, hypericum berries and stock piled high on regal gold stands. And while the aesthetics were particularly of note, plenty of attention was paid to the entertainment as well. After a traditional sit-down dinner of Southern and Northern classics, the Jerry Ross Band took to the stage and rocked the house late into the night. A tip from Katie: “I wish I would have known how much help I really needed. As much as I tried to delegate much of the project work, I still ended up working late nights and long hours. Hiring a smart, capable project manager is key to running a big wedding and the many events that go with it.”
