A Classic, Blush-Hued Wedding at Harborside East in Charleston, South Carolina

Armed with a pink and gold palette and a charming venue along the Charleston, South Carolina, waterfront, Julie Hanover (29 and a rehab liaison) and Jeremy Ward (30 and the owner of Wax’Em Targets) pulled off a timeless affair with a hint of glamour and glitz. After a first look at nearby Boone Hall, where the couple shared a few quiet moments together under moss-trimmed oak trees, they joined their guests at Harborside East for an intimate ceremony overlooking the water. “We chose this location because it had our favorite bridge in the background, the Charleston skyline across the water, as well as views of the USS Yorktown,” Julie says. “We loved that all our out-of-town guests would get a glimpse of our beautiful city with just one view.”

Stately arrangements of ivory stock framed the couple as they said their “I dos,” and as a fun touch to close the proceedings, the newlyweds’ wedding party danced their way up the aisle to Stevie Wonder’s “Signed Sealed Delivered I'm Yours.” Cocktail hour followed on the patio, where signature cocktails (like sweet tea vodka lemonades) flowed and inspired bite-size eats (like chicken and waffles and pulled-pork sliders) were served, alongside breathtaking water views. When it was time for dinner, the party made its way into the venue for a sit-down, family style dinner, which set a relaxed, intimate tone for the rest of the evening. Traditional Southern dishes made the rounds, followed by cupcakes in a variety of mouthwatering flavors. Gold-sequin table runners set a festive tone for the late-October soiree, while ivory linens and arrangements of romantic pink roses and mercury-glass votives infused Harborside East’s elegant interiors with ambience and undeniable charm. A tip from Julie and Jeremy: “Find vendors who truly care about you. All our vendors were key in planning our special day. They all went above and beyond with emails and meetings to go over key details. We were so lucky that our photographer helped with our timeline and the planning of our first look.” —Libby MacCarthy
