A Classic Ballroom Wedding at the Colony Club in Detroit, Michigan
Marissa Piszczatowski (27 and a nurse) Craig Bilbrey (29 and an emergency room physician) met at work in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After touching on Michigan, skiing and the Red Wings during their first conversation, they knew they'd found something special. Years later, when it came time to plan their wedding, Marissa and Craig had their hearts set on a historical venue that reminded them of the Palace of Versailles in France. "It was love at first site with the Colony Club," Marissa says. To avoid overshadowing their gorgeous venue, Marissa and Craig stuck to a "simple elegance" theme, which they brought to life with a neutral color scheme of creams, blush and gold. Marissa wanted her style evoke her mother's look from her parents' wedding many years ago. A bouquet of ivory and blush rose and cream hydrangeas matched her mother's, while a timeless A-line gown with a fingertip-length veil and a satin sash reminded her of her mother's dress. —Meghan Overdeep
