An American Flag-Inspired Wedding at Shadow Creek in Purcellville, Virginia

rn Jessamyn Burns (23 and a stay-at-home mom) and Michael Burns (24 and an owner of a landscaping company) took their wedding inspiration from "The Star-Spangled Banner." "We've always been proud to be American, and we thought the colors red, white, and blue looked so good together," Jessie says. With this palette in mind, they had a patriotic wedding celebration at Shadow Creek, a new venue in Purcellville, Virginia. Everything from the aisle decorations to the wedding cake was red, white and blue. The ceremony took place outdoors on a patio. The aisle was scattered with rose petals and the altar area was flanked by tall metal posts topped with arrangements of red and ivory roses and hanging amaranthus. Following a heartwarming ceremony, guests headed indoors for a rustic reception. Dining tables were covered in navy linens and patterned red runners. They featured alternating tall and low centerpieces of red and ivory roses and eucalyptus leaves that were tied together with striped blue and white ribbon. Jessie and Michael treated their guests to personalized bottles of wine and wedding-themed cookies as well as a beautiful red velvet wedding cake.
