A Casual Plum and Lime Wedding at Lionscrest Manor in Lyons, Colorado

Wanting their personalities to really shine, Cathy Byrem (47 and works in law enforcement) and Kim Gosselin (47 and a cosmetologist) had an upbeat party for their romantic nuptials. They chose Lionscrest Manor in Lyons, Colorado, because it had everything they were looking for and the amazing staff helped them perfect all the details. We love that they stepped out of the box on the traditional setup for the ceremony and exchanged vows on a small landing on the stairs while their 12 guests circled around them. It also allowed them to keep the decor to a minimum, so they could really focus on the reception (which was more of a dance party). Lime green and purple filled the details throughout the day, including the lush, textured floral arrangements beautifully done by Kathy from Flowers Elite. Marci Perrotto from Colorado Rose Cake Company even adorned the buttercream wedding cake with bright green buttercream flowers and made cupcakes in the wedding colors too. See all our favorite details, captured by Beth Photography, below. A tip from Kim: “It's your day. When it comes down to it, just remember to have fun. Laugh and laugh often during the planning process. Ask a lot of questions, and then ask some more. Think outside the box and make your hearts happy—this is your day and no one else’s.”
