Yuki & Alex: An Asian Wedding in San Francisco, CA

Bilingual invitations and traditional Japanese instruments blended seamlessly with American traditions in Yuki and Alex's wedding. Yuki was set up on a blind date, with Alex probably not making the best first impression by being 10 minutes late, Yuki says. He made up for it (Yuki, originally from Japan, was impressed with Alex's bilingual skills), and their afternoon coffee date extended into the evening. When we parted ways, Yuki says, we knew that this was something special. Three months later, the couple had plans for dinner and a show at the theater, in-between which they decided to take in the view from Coit Tower. At the base of the tower, Alex proposed with a gorgeous diamond ring. The first words out of my mouth were, Is this real?! Yuki says. Thankfully, both the ring and the proposal were real, and the two wed nine months later in a room with a view, appropriately enough, of the Coit Tower.
