Roi Fabito (better known as Guava Juice to his 16 million YouTube subscribers) and Monette Solomon's love story began at a national youth conference in 2007, where they first met and formed a close friendship. This bond deepened over the years, and six years later, they took the next step and started dating. Their relationship blossomed, eventually reaching a magical proposal. Roi chose the breathtaking backdrop of Blacks Beach in San Diego, where he proposed to Monette during a stunning sunset, surrounded by their closest friends.

Planning a wedding is no small feat, but the lovebirds were up for the challenge. From the start, "we were looking for a combination of both our personalities," the bride shares. This meant blending their love for earthy, neutral tones with bursts of vibrant color while also incorporating their favorite things: plants, games and food. "We had an amazing wedding planner, Ashley Sun from CCL Weddings, who helped our vision come to life!"

The couple envisioned a day where their guests could feel both the love they shared and the fun they exuded. The chosen motif was unique and playful, with their curated color palette creating a lively yet grounded atmosphere. This aesthetic carried through every element of their wedding, from the decor to the flowers.

Speaking of florals, the arrangements were a masterpiece curated by Of the Flowers, an LA-based florist. "The arrangements played such a huge part in our wedding and helped everything tie together with our earthy theme." The floral design included everything from the bar-back install to custom installations, a sweetheart table arch and suspended greenery over the dance floor. The bridal bouquet was a tropical arrangement with neutral tones accented by pastel hues, setting the tone for the entire bridal party's bouquets and boutonnieres.

Fashion was another significant element that showed the bride and groom's personalities. They both had a clear vision for their wedding day looks. "We were both looking for things that were different from what we typically wear." With the help of a family member experienced in styling, their outfits were cohesive with the overall theme while standing out in their own right.

The intimate Catholic ceremony at a nearby church was heartfelt and touching, providing a beautiful start to the day. As Monette and Roi exchanged vows, surrounded by their closest friends and family, their love was palpable up and down the pews. Following the ceremony, guests made their way to Playa Studios for cocktail hour. The space was decorated simply yet elegantly, allowing the natural beauty of the venue to shine through. Friends and family mingled, enjoying signature cocktails and hors d'oeuvres while taking in the carefully curated decor.

When it was time for the reception, the real fun began. The reception space was nothing short of spectacular, eliciting gasps of delight from the guests. "Getting to hear our guests' reaction when our reception space was revealed (it sounded like a concert!)," smiles Monette. The dance floor was a particular highlight. "That install was absolutely amazing as it had hanging greenery and multiple giant disco balls."

Entertainment was a top priority for Roi and Monette, who wanted their guests to have as much fun as they did. Thanks to the incredible music and lighting, the dance floor was kept alive all night. Highlights included performances by their talented friends AJ and Alyssa Rafael during the ceremony and a lively set by Yeek to kick off the open dance floor.

The reception also featured some non-dancing activities that attendees cherished. "The Lounge Booth was a guest favorite and gave all of our friends and family a chance to shine with their photoshoot experience. Ginger Lim-Dimapasok of Cafe 86 curated delicious desserts and a halo-halo bar, which were such a big hit," tells the bride.

As the night came to a close, the newlyweds reflected on the most memorable moments of their day. "Our most special moment during our wedding was saying 'I do' in front of all our loved ones at our ceremony," Monette shares. The love and joy from their friends and family, the laughter and some pants-ripping dance moves made their wedding unforgettable.

For other couples planning their big day, Roi and Monette have some sage advice: "Try to focus on planning your wedding around things that make you both happy as this day is ultimately about you as a couple. Also, if your budget allows for a wedding planner, we definitely recommend that as well!" They credit their planner with making their dream wedding a reality and believe every couple deserves the same support and guidance.
