When Jamie decided to pop the question, he knew that having Kara’s family present would make the moment that much more special. He planned to propose on her birthday weekend, when they would all be renting a cabin on a lake near their home. “We had a fun weekend of fishing, tubing and enjoying the landscape,” says Kara. “On my birthday we were all sitting out by the lake when Jamie and the dogs went missing for a few minutes. Next thing I know, Moose and Bullet are running toward me with Jamie yelling ‘They have something for you!’” When Kara took a careful look at the two dogs she saw that an engagement ring was attached to one of them, while the other was wearing a collar that read, “Will you marry me?” Kara happily accepted.
