Wheatleigh Garden Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony took place in Wheatleigh's gardens, where Katie and Dave said their “I dos” under the shade of an old-growth oak tree trimmed with floral garlands and pastel ribbons. “Dave and I come from somewhat different religious backgrounds; my family is Methodist, while he grew up in a household that was part Jewish, part Catholic,” Katie says. “We wanted to have a spiritual ceremony that incorporated nods to our heritage but with a program that was distinctly us. Our officiant Deborah Roth did a wonderful job of helping us put exactly that together.” The pair personalized the proceedings with a hand-fasting ritual, classical renditions of their favorite tunes and vows they’d written themselves.
