The Conservatory at The Bryan Museum in Galveston, Texas, Brought Vintage Flair to This Wedding
Attorneys Rebekah and John met at the University of Texas Law School. When pinning down a location, they looked for a venue that felt remote but in reality, wasn’t difficult to get to for locals. They found that balance at The Bryan Museum. The pair served up Lone Star classics—margaritas and Tex-Mex—and shipped in a cake from New York City-based Milk Bar for the occasion. “We wanted our wedding to feel elegant and classic, but also to have modern twists and a fun atmosphere,” Rebekah says. A laser-cut metal backdrop covered with a garland of bougainvillea, amaranthus and roses doubled as a modern altar at the outdoor ceremony. “Navy, copper and marble accents complemented an abundance of greenery throughout the celebration, and large palm leaves held in place with plexiglass made for a bold seating chart. An exit on beach bikes made for an unexpected finish. “It was cute,” Rebekah says, “except that we had to pedal back to the hotel uphill—with me in heels!” Guests took home cookies from Milk Bar packaged with monogrammed stickers reading, JMR. “They were quite a hit,” Rebekah says.
