Vintage Postcard-Inspired Stationery

“As artists, we felt a lot of pressure to whip up some amazing invitations,” Tryn says. “Our save-the-date was a postcard of the split rock, a landmark of sorts, in front of the house. We took the picture on Matt’s 4-by-5 at sunset when the split rock was being battered by waves. We thought it was a nice metaphor for marriage.” The invitations themselves were less straightforward. Just days before the invitations needed to be sent out, the pair scrapped their original design and created a suite with an 11-by-17 risograph machine. They printed a photo they’d taken together in Joshua Tree National Park on one side and the wedding details on the other. “We folded each of them up, stuffed them in plain brown-paper envelopes and sent them on their way. It felt like a poster for our wedding,” Tryn says.
