One CouplesVibrant, Fun Millennium Park Rooftop Terrace Wedding in Chicago, Illinois
To design their wedding at the Millennium Park Rooftop Terrace, Kit and Chris started with the fashion. Blue-green watercolor bridesmaid dresses informed the day’s palette and romantic atmosphere, down to the cake. As for the vibe, the key word was “fun.” “We wanted an upbeat band, delicious food, an open bar, lots of dancing and a relaxed environment,” Kit says. The big hit? A photo booth with life-size cutouts of Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber. Soft blues and greens flowed throughout the reception, from the table linens to lounge furniture. Roses, hydrangeas and tree ivy filled ceramic vases. At cocktail hour, Kit and Chris served vodka-lavender lemonade and beers from their favorite places: Boston’s Sam Adams 76, Hawaii’s Kona Big Wave and Chicago’s Goose Island 312. Appetizers included fried Chilean sea bass with purple potato crisps. Guests dined on arugula salad with berries, zucchini-encrusted halibut, eggplant lasagna and garlic-herb tenderloin. Kit and Chris kicked off the party with a dance to “You & Me” by Dave Matthews Band and kept guests energized with late-night beef and fried-chicken sliders.
