One Couple's Colorful Estate Wedding at the Seversky Mansion in Glen Head, New York

Christiana and Millet (Mel) looked to Europe to design their black-tie Long Island wedding. “We were inspired by old-world elegance,” Christiana says. “We wanted the wedding to be timeless but also fun.” The 100-year-old de Seversky Mansion got them halfway there, with chandeliers and a wood-paneled ballroom, and allowed guests to flow between rooms. Brass candlesticks, a champagne tower and lush floral arrangements modeled on Dutch paintings brought things up a notch. Despite the formal trappings, the couple kept things from getting stuffy with cornhole at cocktail hour and an after-dinner fire pit and pizza truck. Guests dined on grilled chicken breast with butternut squash risotto and Burgundy-braised short ribs. A dedicated dessert room served Italian rainbow cookies and waffles and ice cream, while sugar flowers garnished layers of banana, coconut and matcha cake.
