Unique Rice Farm Wedding on Halloween in Jacksonville, Florida

Stephen proposed to Emily  on Halloween night. To honor their favorite holiday, they incorporated fall and gothic elements into their wedding, using a black color scheme with jewel-tone accents. The pair also showcased their love for pop culture, with Harry Potter books lining the ceremony aisle, and framed pictures of film and television couples atop tables at the reception. “Our wedding was a modern-day Victorian love celebration for two nerdy weirdos, sprinkled with pumpkins and pop culture references,” Emily says.
Stephen and Emily’s friend reimagined the duo and their pets as Star Wars characters for their invitations. Guests were later gifted pins made from the same design.
The newlyweds danced to Jason Isabell’s “Cover Me Up” on a black-and-white dance floor—Stephen’s only request for their wedding. Guests sat for mac and cheese, pulled pork, and cornbread from Mojo BBQ at tastefully decorated farm tables. Emily asked for flowers with a “dark and moody aesthetic.” Her bouquet incorporated magnolia leaves and pheasant feathers, and centerpieces matched with thistles and spider mums.
