Tuscan-Inspired Eclectic Industrial Wedding

Ashley Southard (28 and a digital marketing specialist) and Michael “Mike” London (28 and a logistics coordinator) began wedding planning by figuring out just what they didn’t want. “It was a process of elimination,” Ashley says. “We didn’t want to be too formal or too neutral. That’s not us.” Instead, the couple channeled their personalities with fun fashion and splashes of color. Ashley designed the stationery, while Mike inspired the signature cocktail: the Philly Special, a whiskey drink named for his team, the Philadelphia Eagles.
Not only did the couple offer guests slices of confetti cake topped with figs and berries, but Ashley and Mike also stacked their dessert table with tiramisu and crepe cake. Just in case that wasn’t quite enough, guests also chowed down on cinnamon rolls. Fresh fruit, including pears and plums, topped tables alongside bright greenery and gold votive candles.
Ashley and Mike filled the day with Jewish tradition, including a ketubah signing.
Blue tablecloths, brass candlesticks and tall trees added a whimsical note to the industrial space. Ashley and Mike made sure to take part in another celebratory Jewish tradition: the hora. The newlyweds followed the custom up with even more smooth moves and jams courtesy of Milan 77, their band, who also played at Mike’s sister’s wedding. “We knew we wanted them,” Ashley says, “and dancing with the amazing band was our favorite part.”
