Tully & Mark: A Rustic Wedding in Rice Lake, WI
Tully and Mark met while working together in mortgage sales. They’d actually worked in the same organization for three years before they officially met, but Tully had had her eye on Mark for some time. When she saw on their employee calendar that it was his birthday, she sent him an email asking if she could buy him a beer for his birthday. We went out for a beer and the rest is history, she says. The Bride Tully Kaiser, 29, part-time insurance sales The Groom Mark Schenkelberg, 31, mortgage sales The Date June 24 Later, while Mark was in San Francisco on business, Tully flew out to meet him. The week before he left he bought a ring and showed it to me… I loved it, she remembers. However, they decided to get it reappraised, so Tully sent it back to New York. Since I was sending it back I knew we would not be getting engaged in San Francisco as I had hoped, Tully recalls. Turns out she was wrong -- Mark had brought along an actual rock taped to a plastic orange ring from a gumball machine, a memento a couple of Tully’s girlfriends from work had given him as a joke. He presented it to her while the couple was hiking together in the Muir Woods. I thought he was kidding, and then thought maybe he was serious and proposing with the ‘fake’ ring because he didn’t have a real one yet, Tully says. I said yes and he took out the real one. Unbeknownst to Tully, the real ring had been sent to Mark in San Francisco.
