A Tropical Wedding at The Bonnet House Garden in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Jenna Cloyd (31 and an attorney) and Paul Jump (30 and a senior manager at Uber) know how to combine formality with fun. Jenna and Paul said their vows under the cover of palm trees in Bonnet House’s garden. Upon their engagement, the San Francisco-based pair began planning a wedding all the way across the country in their hometown of Fort Lauderdale. As the couple envisioned their day, Jenna and Paul pictured minimal décor and a traditional ceremony, but with punches of coral, clever signage and a “Florida formal” dress code. “We wanted guests to dress up like they were on vacation, but spiffed up a bit,” Jenna says. At the ceremony, a sign labeled “Can I get a witness!?” welcomed guests.
Jenna, Paul and their guests grabbed slices of salted caramel cake with buttercream frosting from the cake table, beckoned by a sign reading “Hurry up, we want cake!” Jenna and Paul chose Tim McGraw’s “Shotgun Rider” to honor their love of taking road trips together. “The song is such a good reminder that we’re in it for the long haul,” Jenna says. Tall, colorful king proteas, ranunculus and dahlias struck an eye-catching note alongside gold chargers and ivory linens.
