"From Tennessee With Love" Was the Motto at This Knoxville Wedding

Meg Tucker and Alex York are a perfect example of how the invisible string theory works in mysterious and beautiful ways. The duo was born and raised in Nashville, where their families lived a mere three streets apart while they were kids, before they met during their senior year at the University of Tennessee. One day, destiny finally brought them together, with the two running into one another while living on the same apartment floor. Their connection was instant and cosmic, but didn't blossom until later. “I was worried our friend group would be ruined if we got together and eventually broke up, so I played hard to get for about six months,” Meg admits. But no one can stop what’s meant to be, because the soon-to-be lovers eventually shared a kiss on Alex’s apartment balcony, and the rest was history. Six years later, Alex proposed at Lakeshore Park in Knoxville, Tennessee with their goldendoodle, Miller, in tow.

The love birds hosted their March wedding in Knoxville, a city near and dear to them, and ensured dynamic patterns, on-trend decor and a vibrant color palette of orange, pink and yellow were incorporated throughout. From the orange table linens with fan motifs to the custom seating chart display surrounded by dazzling disco balls, every decision was made with a keen eye for flair. The Mill & Mine venue was the perfect canvas to bring other design elements to fruition too like the lush ceremony arrangements with Canterbury bells, roses, peonies positioned on clear pedestals and the fringed garlands and flower installations hanging from the ceiling at the reception. The wedding also wouldn’t have been complete without Miller making a few appearances. At the ceremony, the 90-pound pup wore a blue velvet bow tie to be the bride’s something blue, and thanks to one of the bridesmaids, Meg had a custom purse with the couple’s furry best friend painted on it. The day was full of other personal touches too like trucker hats as wedding merch that said "From Knoxville With Love” on them and boxes of Krystal as late-night snacks. To end an epic evening and honor the place where everything began, guests did a traditional University of Tennessee “shaker exit” by waving orange-and-white pom-poms as the couple left the reception hand in hand.
