Bing and Ben honored their shared Chinese roots with a few unexpected twists at their wedding. “Think: modern romance in a Chinese restaurant,” Bing says. “We celebrated our heritage with a balance of our two cultures, Chinese and American.” The couple combined soft blue and white chinoiserie with punches of red and a graphic version of the traditional double-happiness symbol. The pair designed and printed their own stationery, but enclosed them in envelopes sourced from China.
“The morning tea ceremony was the most sentimental part of the day,” Bing says. “As is tradition, we knelt in front of our parents and grandparents and poured them cups of tea as a symbol of our gratitude for all the years they spent raising us to adulthood.”
Postceremony, Bing and Ben welcomed guests to Imperial Lamian for a Chinese feast. “The restaurant matched the modern aesthetic we wanted,” Bing says. “All we did was add Chinese teapots to the tables.”  “We didn’t want to settle for any mediocre food, so we went all out,” Bing says. The spread included truffle soup dumplings, barbecue pork, triple-chocolate doughnuts and lunar blossom cakes served with hot chocolate.
