Both were consultants with Deloitte Consulting when they met working on what Tina calls a high-burn project, a euphemism for a project that requires the dedication to pull off consecutive all-nighters. One Friday after getting less than 15 hours of sleep over the week, Dave asked Tina to go to dinner with him and a few friends. The Bride Christina Klockenga The Groom David Supp The Date April 13 Two years later, Dave had a diamond ring burning a hole in his pocket as he traded phone messages with Tina's parents, who live in Cleveland. His future in-laws gave Dave the run-around for about five weeks, says Tina. Finally, on a Friday, David got them on the phone. Dad's answer to Dave's request for permission to marry Tina: Go ahead, but I'd really like to talk to you in person about this at some point. Dave, unwilling to propose without explicit permission, hopped on a plane from Chicago to Cleveland, and returned on Monday, mission accomplished. He asked Tina while they were out walking near Navy Pier in Chicago, as fireworks filled the July sky.
