This Wildflower-Filled Wedding at Diamond Oaks in Iowa Will Make You Fall in Love with the Color Red
While not all of the botanicals and Hannah Hunchis and Bryan Hengesteg's wedding are a normal part of the Iowa prairie landscape, the inspiration was to make it look as though they were. "The biggest inspiration behind the day for me would be to make everything look like it had already been growing/living in the area. For example, the living aisle, archway, and flowers wrapped around the tree looked as if they were already 'growing.' I also wanted everything to look natural and like it was meant to be there. The dance floor outside, the lights in the trees, and the wicker chairs all added to this feeling," Hannah shares. To complement the wildflower aesthetic, this Iowa couple opted for a warm color palette. The twosome settled on, "shades of reds and oranges. A mixture of summer and fall, like the month of September!" Not only did this Clear Lake, Iowa, wedding look stunning, the wildflowers were incorporated in a particularly sustainable way. "At the bride's request, all flowers were recycled after the ceremony, placed into vases and taken to the skilled nursing facility where the bride works. Not only was it a great opportunity to be sustainable, but it was a wonderful gift to share the flowers with deserving people after this joyous wedding," shares their photographer.
