With a crisp, blank slate of a venue, Heather Rogers (27 and an office manager) and Eric Betancur (30 and a senior acquisitions agent) knew that a generous dose of bold and saturated color was the ticket. “I was definitely going for a modern, moody masterpiece. I went for burgundy tones and punches of burnt and deep orange,” Heather shares. Although the couple’s minimal venue ended up being a perfect fit for their jewel-toned décor, finding it was another story. “After nearly a year of looking,” the recently-revamped space caught their eye. Heather and Eric’s venue, “was designed by HGTVs Leanne Ford,” says Heather. “Once my florist had her way with the alter, I could not imagine anything more gorgeous and perfect." As for fashion, Heather’s wedding dress had, “a plunging v-neck with a delicate lace bodice and mermaid style skirt. It was covered with pearl beading and the top layer of lace with a golden sheen that sparkled in the sunlight,” she says. At the reception, a neon sign bearing the couple’s initials was the focal point of their seating chart. For the stationery component of the display they, “went with a black card stock and very modern minimal white font.” To demarcate the head table, a dramatic floral installation was suspended from the ceiling. Some of the varieties of blooms used included pampas grass, anthurium, ranunclus and dried ruscus.
