This Waterfront Greenhouse Wedding at Dos Pueblos Orchid Farm in California Was Packed with Color
To complement their greenhouse wedding venue, Kelsey Krasnigor (28 and a writers assistant at Netflix) and Ian Levine (31 and an operations manager at Caffe Luxxe) loaded their celebration with plenty of vibrant botanicals paired with an equally punchy color palette of fuchsia, coral and tangerine. The end result was a "summer citrus-infused dinner party," that helped them achieve their vision of a wedding that felt, "like an extension of ourselves and feel like a big fun dinner party for all. We wanted comfort, ease, fun, and whimsy. I think we accomplished that with lots of fresh flowers, candles, citrus, and greenery." Selecting Dos Pueblos as their venue allowed the couple to get, "married somewhere in nature, but also be able to celebrate inside." The venue's cliffside paved the way for their oceanfront vows while the greenhouse was the perfect backdrop for the couple's reception.
In addition to ample floral arrangements, the couple infused their celebration with colorful acrylic accents throughout. From acrylic panels suspended from a tree for the seating chart to a cheeky welcome sign that declared the wedding, "#IansBigDay (Featuring Special Guest: Kelsey)," acrylic details were in abundance. Then, to layer in even more natural color to the day, cut fruit was incorporated in the tablescape design. "We wanted the centerpieces to be cheerful, colorful, and slightly tropical, but not overdone. Nina with Coco Rose used smaller vessels to dot floral down the center of each farm table and added boat loads of texture with teak wood pieces, papaya, limes, plantains, Himalayan sea salt and pink pillar candles. Soft and more traditional garden roses were combined with air plants and palm leaves for a unique mix," Kelsey says.
Beyond the day's décor, the menu was a big focus for the couple. "We are huuuuuge eaters. Love to eat, love to talk about food, love to think about food. We focused a lot of our budget and energy into the food. I am gluten free and we have vegetarians in the family so wanted to make sure everyone was served. We HAD to have an arancini ball (rice+cheese=hell yes!), roasted brussel sprouts, tri tip, and gluten free bread plus butter," Kelsey shares. The twosome rounded out their reception menu with an assortment of pies in lieu of traditional wedding cake.
