This Romantic Wedding at the New Orleans Museum of Art Wowed With Rich Berry Hues
When it came time to plan their Louisiana wedding at the New Orleans Museum of Art, Brooke and Kelin wanted a celebration that reflected their "upbeat personalities," and a vibrant color palette anchored by red and berry, with silver accents, helped them bring their vision to life. In the end, the couple tied the knot with a glam, yet romantic, wedding packed with lush floral arrangements and ample personalization at every turn.
The personalized details welcomed wedding guests before the ceremony even started—everyone received a flute of champagne from a statement champagne wall upon arrival. The couple chose to exchange vows during the evening so the full impact of their ceremony design could be experienced. A dramatic tunnel made up of string lights anchored the ceremony space and beautifully framed the center aisle. Brooke explains that the couple's event planner "designed our day to include a ceremony area that was built from the ground up just for us, which involved a refined truss structure and twinkle lights so that we could have our dream of getting married under the stars come true."
As soon as the couple was pronounced married a Second Line parade escorted guests to the glam ballroom wedding reception in the New Orleans Museum of Art's atrium. During cocktail hour, guests sipped on French 75 cocktails with a unique photo garnish. "We wanted our day to reflect our upbeat personalities, so it was important that we considered guest experience from start to finish," explains Brooke. "Following the ceremony, a Second Line band led guests to the cocktail area where they were treated to our signature cocktail (French 75) complete with an edible photo of us."
Upon arrival at the reception area, guests found their seats with the help of an escort card display bearing the phrase, "let the good times roll," which is one of Brooke and Kelin's favorite quotes. The French translation of that quote also graced the wedding favors, which were placed atop each reception place setting. "Guest favors were tied around each guest menu and featured the phrase 'Laissez les bon temps rouler,' which translates to 'let the good times roll.' We loved all of the personalized details throughout our day," recalls Brooke.
Looking back on the wedding day at the New Orleans Museum of Art, Brooke notes that "the most anticipated moment of our day was seeing everything come together. From the custom ceremony build to the luscious floral and the backdrop for the band, it was truly my dream come true! The New Orleans Museum of Art is such a stunning venue and we were excited to see what our wedding planner created. She made our storyboards come to life!" Seeing the work her vendor team brought to life is also why Brooke's biggest piece of advice for current to-be-weds is that they "hire a wedding planner to help you bring your vision to life and alleviate the planning workload. This will also allow you to focus and take opportunities during the day to take it all in. Couples wait so long for this one day and it is over before you know it."
