This Indian Wedding at Villa Del Lago in Austin, Texas, Had the Most Epic Gold Details
Puja Chugh (28 and a business and technology consultant) and Karan Chaudhary (27 and a technology investor) placed special emphasis on adding meaning to all the components of their wedding. “Every part of our wedding day was either cultural, traditional or sentimental,” Puja says, especially the music choices. For cocktail hour, Puja tracked down a violinist that the couple had heard perform many years prior when they visited a Dallas brewery with his sisters. As for the reception, a playlist stacked with ‘90s tunes harkened back to Puja’s childhood spent belting “The Time of My Life” during car trips with her parents.
It’s hard to believe that this lakefront venue is in Texas, and that’s exactly why the couple selected it. “We needed a venue that could give us the feeling of being home and abroad at the same time,” they say. For dinner, guests ate under a translucent tent and canopy of twinkling lights. All 150 guests were seated at one long table for the reception, which made typical table number-based escort cards an impossibility. Instead, the couple creatively numbered every seat so guests could seamlessly find their chair. As for the design, to balance out all the gold and mirrored décor, the flowers were kept mostly white. “The design team went all out using white roses and greenery,” Puja says. When it came to wedding-day fashion, “I wore the same necklace and earrings that my mother wore on her wedding day! I felt so incredibly blessed to carry family heirlooms and truly signify the joining of two families,” says Puja of the jewelry from both families that she wore for the wedding.
