An Orange-Hued Fall Wedding at Jonathan Edwards Winery in North Stonington, Connecticut

Drawing on both the vineyard setting and fall for inspiration, Lindsey and David planned the ultimate seasonal celebration. “I wanted our flowers and décor to scream autumn, but not have anything to do with pumpkins,” Lindsey says. Food and Lindsey’s Italian heritage played a central role in the day. The stationery included a watercolor fig motif, and guests cut a wedge from a cheese wheel to take home with them as favors. After a private church ceremony with family, the newlyweds took photos ahead of the second, larger vineyard ceremony.

At cocktail hour, guests dined on a combination of New England– and Italian-inspired appetizers, including a raw bar, clam chowder shots, mini lobster rolls, arancini, and crostini with prosciutto and figs. Guests sipped on spiked apple cider and sat down to a traditional Italian feast that included a fresh pasta course. “We thought it would be fun to include fall fruits, vegetables and herbs in the tablescapes,” Lindsey says of the figs, artichokes, grapes and persimmons that accented each centerpiece. Along with a carrot cake with traditional cream cheese frosting, Lindsey and David served shooters of tiramisu and milk and cookies.
