This Couple Tied the Knot on Stage at the Historic Marquis Theater in Northville, Michigan
Liz and Tina both know how to put on a show. Years of planning parties and directing cruise ship events prepared Liz and Tina, respectively, for designing their Northville wedding in just four months. “We both have backgrounds in the theater, so we chose the historic Marquis Theater downtown,” Liz says. As Tina walked down the aisle, a wall of greenery and white roses descended onto the stage, much like a curtain. In honor their shared love of the stage, Liz and Tina created theater-inspired décor. At the reception, otherwise known as “Act II,” everyone headed to the town square for a starlit dance and then to dinner at Tina's family's restaurant, Genitti's Hole-in-the- Wall—naturally, a dinner theater. Full of its own unique charm, the couple let the restaurant speak for itself. The couple asked their nieces to hand guests vintage-inspired tickets of admission, each marked with table numbers. The menus, which accompanied rose gold flatware and silk napkins, were written in Italian script to honor Tina’s Italian heritage. The grand finale? Guests circled the pair on the dance floor as they played the final song of the evening, “That’s Amore.”
