This Couple Played Basketball on the Golden State Warriors' Court in San Francisco During Their Wedding

"'Do you want to be my plus one to a Warriors playoff game?'" That’s how it all started—bonding over the Golden State Warriors. After COVID-19 derailed our Hawaii wedding, we wanted to find a nearby venue that meant something to us. We spent the last decade at Oracle Arena growing in our relationship. Getting married at the team’s new stadium, Chase Center, embodies this new chapter for us and it couldn’t have been more perfect," says Angelina of her wedding to Rowell at the Golden State Warriors' stadium in San Francisco, California. Not only did the couple celebrate their love of basketball with their wedding, but they also got bragging rights for being the very first wedding to take place at Chase Center. To celebrate their basketball-themed wedding Angelina and Rowell even took to the court to shoot hoops on their wedding day.

"We got engaged in June 2018 and were set on having a destination wedding in Hawaii. We planned the most amazing wedding but low and behold, we had to postpone due to a global pandemic. Not once but twice," explains Angelina of what wedding planning during the pandemic looked like for her and Rowell. "They say the 3rd time is the charm right? We vowed that no matter what we would get married on our engagement anniversary on June 9th, 2021. As a bride, I also have extensive event experience so I knew that I didn't want anything that has been done before. We reached out to the Chase Center team and had 5 weeks to make magic. The Golden State Warriors are such a huge part of our relationship as we had our first date in their arena. We decided on a modern tropical theme as an ode to Hawaii but in the Bay Area on Warriors ground. We're both Filipino Americans and at the time where Asian hate is at an all-time high, we decided to invest in only Asian-owned businesses to be part of the wedding. It was everything we could've dreamed of AND MORE. The best part? We were the first to bring home a ring to the new arena! Can't wait until the Warriors do it next."
