“Family and nature were the focus of our wedding and, from there, everything just fell into place,” Alexa says of her and Peter’s celebration. Alexa kicked off the day by honoring her father with a personalized tie. Then, at the ceremony overlooking Lake Superior, her uncle officiated and her cousins played music, including the processional to the theme song from Jurassic Park, Peter’s favorite movie.Alexa wrapped her mom’s veil around her bouquet of peonies, scabiosa, garden roses and anemones as her “something old.”Alexa’s father built the doughnut wall featuring treats from her favorite local bakery, World’s Best Donuts. The couple used Lake Superior rocks as escort cards, embossed with their fingerprints and the guests’ names. “It was the one DIY we did and was one of my favorite parts of the wedding,” Alexa says.
