A Family-Focused Wedding at Abbie Holmes Estate in Cape May, New Jersey

Rosemary and Louis planned a rustic and vintage wedding full of jewel tones and nostalgia at Rosemary’s family-owned venue. “The Abbie holds a very special place in my heart, and I always knew I would end up here for my wedding,” Rosemary says. From serving up a signature dish made by Rosemary’s mother, to placing a signed brick on the springhouse’s path, the couple used their day to deepen and revitalize their family ties.

For their wedding day attire, the duo opted for chic and formal looks, with Rosemary rocking a long-sleeved lace gown and Louis opting for a bespoke suit and velvet bow tie. The bridesmaids’ floral velvet dresses and the groomsmen’s black tuxedos complemented the couple’s elegant attire.

The pair opted for an altar backdrop of ivy, hanging mirrors and an “All You Need Is Love” sign, along with a repurposed fireplace mantel from Rosemary’s childhood home.  To enhance the farmhouse vibes, the duo selected wood tables with navy runners and metallic candlesticks. An assortment of roses, peonies, scabiosa, king protea and greenery added a burst of life to the rustic venue.

In addition to carrot cake, guests could choose from a variety of mini apple pies, mini pumpkin pies, pastries and homemade ice cream sandwiches. Guests took home chocolate chip cookies and a bottle of Louis’s homemade hot sauce called “Loucifer.” “Guests are still asking when he’s making more,” Rosemary says.
