This Couple Chose an Ethereal Pale-Blue-and-White Palette for Their Anaheim Hills, California, Wedding
Romance was the name of the game at Justine and Stephen's intimate pale-blue-and-white wedding with epic canyon views in Anaheim Hills, California. Although the ongoing pandemic forced Justine and Stephen to scale back their wedding plans, they didn't let the changes derail their vision of an elegant wedding filled with beautiful details. "Our original plans for what we imagined our wedding day may have changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it transitioned into this beautiful, intimate backyard wedding with 12 of our closest family and friends (plus our precious flower pup)," says Justine. "For our ceremony, we wanted a romantic feel followed by a nostalgic, intimate and elevated dinner party as a reception. Elements of cream, gold, blush and an abundance of greenery set upon the backdrop of a canyon transformed the backyard of my childhood family home into the perfect setting to get married."
A silver lining of having to pivot their wedding plans is that Justine and Stephen were able to fill their microwedding with beautiful, bespoke details. "Once we decided to scale down the event, it allowed us room in our budget to really elevate the space and bring in special touches. For the ceremony, we staged the area with an aisle lined with flower petals leading to two lush floral urns with corresponding floor arrangements to provide a romantic feel. For the dinner reception, the patio was transformed into a whimsical space with flowy, sheer curtains and hanging chandeliers wrapped in green foliage. Our guests sat around the velvet-lined table decorated with floral centerpieces, and candles to enjoy good food and drink throughout the night. Justine made the name cards for all of our guests using her calligraphy skills and wax seals. It was special having both of our families and a few of our closest friends all together at one dining table for the first time ever."
Looking back on the wedding day, Justine recalls that "my favorite part of the day was during golden hour with Stephen after exchanging our vows, when the setting sun created the perfect lighting and everything seemed like it was dusted with a golden glow, making our wedding day pure magic. It allowed us to take a moment to soak everything in, and really enjoy the feeling of newlywed bliss."
