This Couple Celebrated Their Multicultural Wedding Under California's Towering Redwoods

To celebrate the blending of two cultures and two families, Kathryn Uhl (31 and a manager at a global non-profit) and Saagar Kurani (31 and a musician and product manager) celebrated their wedding with two wedding ceremonies, a Hindu one and a western one, at Deerpark Villa in Fairfax, California with a vision to create a day of, "serenity in nature meets vibrant Indian culture." The venue, in the foothills of Mt. Tam, boasts a lush redwood grove that served as the, "beautiful backdrop and intimate setting for the two ceremonies." The duo of ceremonies made way for twice as many celebratory elements to be woven into the day, especially when it came to fashion. "Given that we had two ceremonies, we had two outfits. The Hindu ceremony included Indian outfits that were custom-made in Mumbai and the non-denominational ceremony included the traditional white dress and suit," Kathryn shares. To complement the natural surroundings, the couple opted for a rustic feel when it came to décor. They embraced, "lots of wood and natural colors." Nature was even a part of the couple's wedding in a way they didn't expect! "Apparently, as we were saying our vows, there were two deer frolicking in the background near the large redwoods," Kathryn says. She went on to reminisce that, "Everything was so breathtakingly beautiful: the venue, the laughter, the joy and most importantly, all of our favorite people in the world nestled under the century-old redwoods. It felt like a dream and went by so fast. We wish we could experience it again, in slow motion."
