This Asbury Hotel Wedding Along the Jersey Shore Had a "Modern Boho Disco" Theme
Tera and Matt knew a traditional venue wouldn’t work for their contemporary wedding. They landed on the lively Asbury Hotel, just off the boardwalk, a blank slate they could customize to their liking, Tera says. A clean palette, neon signage, copper accents and plenty of pampas grass created the “modern bohemian disco” the couple envisioned. Lucite accents and lush florals like poppies, peonies and roses created a wild and modern setting. Bold and playful typography set the stage for the couple’s laid-back celebration. Their detail card included a simple sketch of the venue, and copper made an appearance in the letterpress metallic foil. “Our stationer gifted us a gorgeous set of coordinating stamps for our invitation set that I absolutely loved,” Tera says. It rained throughout the day, and once it stopped, guests rushed out to the terrace and jumped on the furniture. “It was so fun and so ridiculous. Definitely one of our absolute favorite moments,” Tera says. “We had a family-style dinner because we didn’t want anyone to have food FOMO,” Tera says. Standouts included slow-cooked short ribs, cavatelli primavera and roasted spring vegetables.
