Because Bess’ four bridesmaids were all different ages, she picked black formal attire to flatter them all. Black satin trained skirts from Jim Hjelm were paired with black velvet tops and satin sashes made by a seamstress, who also added bustles to the skirts so that the bridesmaids could dance more easily. “The whole ensemble looked great on every one of them!” Bess says.
