The Wedding Ceremony

The couple was married by a family friend in a simple, nonreligious ceremony. We included a tree planting ceremony in place of a traditional “unity” ceremony. In the tree ceremony, we planted a young dogwood tree in a pot using soil from both of our childhood homes to symbolize our families coming together, explains Zoe.
