The Urban Vibes of The Holden Room in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Inspired This Formal Wedding

“From the beginning, Kurt and I told our parents that we wanted a party, not a formal wedding,” Laura says of her and Kurt's Minneapolis celebration.

“From the beginning, Kurt and I told our parents that we wanted a party, not a formal wedding,” Laura says of her and Kurt's Minneapolis celebration. “We booked a food truck early on and found the urban warehouse setting we were hoping for in The Holden Room.” In keeping with that vibe, guests dined on nachos, sliders and mac and cheese, and sipped local beers, including the groom’s favorite: Indeed’s Mexican Honey Imperial Lager. “We loved The Holden Room because of its natural light and warehouse vibe,” Laura says. “It’s all white, so we could do as we pleased with color.” Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s wedding dress inspired Laura’s own gown. “I always loved the picture of her and John F. Kennedy Jr. walking out of the chapel,” she says. One of Laura’s bridesmaids made the raspberry- and lemon-curd-filled cake, and figurines that Laura’s brother and cousin used on their own wedding days sat on top.
