The Traditions

Hours after the western ceremony and reception ended, it was time for what Eric calls the smaller party -- this one with only 250 people. This Chinese wedding banquet, at San Francisco's Harbor Village Restaurant, was preceded by a private, traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony. Eric and Maritza (now wearing a red Chinese wedding dress) served tea to the older relatives from their family, and were given the traditional red envelopes of money for use in setting up their new home.
