The Traditions
Towards the end of the afternoon reception, Jina and Jon performed a traditional Korean wedding ceremony, or pebek. We changed into beautiful, traditional robes, then we bowed deeply to our family and poured them wine to symbolize gratitude and respect. Even Jon's mom got into the spirit. She tossed dates and chestnuts to us which I caught in the skirt of my robe. In Korean folklore, the number a bride catches foretells how many children she will have. We caught fourteen! laughs Jina.
